The older I get, the more I’m convinced I know very little about the ways of the world. For instance, I thought I could live without the letter U. Then my keyboard gives out on me; the letter U refuses to budge unless I hammer away at it with a finger, and now I’m convinced my career is over because this tiny part of the alphabet is throwing a bitchfit.
Then there’s Iris, and her wedding, and the fact that I always took for gospel her dramatic prediction that she might never get married. Well, what do you know? After a stint in Thailand and a hop to several countries, she traded I do’s (and spit, for better or worse) with Steve.
He’s a lovely man, this Steve, and he has an even lovelier home entertainment center (a 50-inch TV, can you imagine?). Their wedding is the only one I’ve been to where I didn’t go home ready to keel over from exhaustion. I didn’t die of hunger, too; most of the weddings I’ve been to seem designed with that in mind, what with hours-long of photo sessions and never-ending ceremonies.
So yes, I really know very little; and the older I get, the more I know that I know very little. What I do know is that Iris looked radiant and thin during her wedding and if I didn’t believe it before, I do now: passion is the best makeup and happiness makes the best lotion.
Congratulations, woman! Here’s to corky fairytales, offbeat romances, and grooms who adore their brides so much they’ll wear whatever matches their shoes. Yep, I noticed
How’s the newly christened Mrs. Young, you ask? Well, aside from saying ‘my husband’ every chance she gets, she hasn’t changed a bit. She works like a horse and slaps Steve’s butt whenever he passes. I kid!
Hi! My name is Chin, and this is where, to quote Jane Austen, I "run mad and as often as I choose."

ahem… i took a picture of those shoes, it was chic. but i like how you put it “grooms who adore their brides so much they’ll wear whatever matches their shoes” – this everyone has to know. and one more thing, i held back tears when i witnessed the entire ceremony, in my head, what is she getting into?! hahaha… nice post btw and steve & iris, love you guys!
