One Roast Pork With Mushroom Gravy Away From Wellness

Today’s shaping up to be a better day. I’m finally off the nebulizer, and I feel better. The hub managed to coax me into eating roast pork with mushroom gravy – a treat he had to go to Ambassador’s for, at 2pm, just so he could tempt me into chowing down more than boiled eggs. It’s funny; while he was describing my favorite dish to the waitress, she interrupted him with, “What your wife usually orders?”

“Yes,” he said, surprised that they know him, his wife, and what we eat.

“That would be roast pork with mushroom gravy,” she said, proceeding to describe how the dish looks.

Wett was flummoxed! Were we really that memorable?

I’m feeling ambivalent about the incident. On the one hand, it’s comforting to know I can trust the waitress’ memory to come to the rescue when Wett’s fails. It’s also heartwarming that they remember us. We only went there 4 or 5 times, and behaved ourselves – no silly questions, no lengthy dinners, no last-minute change of order. But on the other hand, it’s disappointing how predictable I am. When I find a dish I like (which is a feat, I tell ya, because I rarely try new dishes), I order it until I tire of it. Obviously, I’ve been ordering roast pork with mushroom gravy one time too many.

The roast pork is delish. I got to eat it in bed, on the prettiest little breakfast tray complete with flowers, because the hub is very strict about keeping me in bed while I’m sick. I love it because I get to see the prettiest spread ever!

I hope I get better for good. Three days spent sick is such a waste of time. There’s so much I could have done and would have done! So much for my plans to handcarry my present to Kaith, who turned 27 today!
