What We Did in Hong Kong
|
Now that we’ve settled on the exact shooting dates, I can finally share with y’all what the four-day Hong Kong trip is about. Yes, that Doyle. The one who speaks more than 70 languages fluently. The one who shot many of the films I love, among them Hero and Rabbit-Proof Fence. The man we identify with Wong Kar Wai’s films as much as Wong Kar Wai himself. The intellectual whose views on a handful of cinema-related concerns are, surprisingly, not much different from my own. Yes, that Doyle—and the three nights we spent with him are so awesome my feet still haven’t quite touched the ground. We shoot Ruined Heart February 2013, punks!
