Happily Sleeved
Author: ChinThis will sound very nitpicky of me but I’ve never liked the roomy laptop bags that most laptops come with. For one, they’re too big for me. They look way too utilitarian. Most of all, they look (forgive me, god of freebies) ugly. The easiest thing would have been to buy a girly laptop bag, right? Wrong. Try scouring for one and you’ll be dismayed at how few of them you could find. The rest of Cebu, it would seem, are happy with their black laptop bags.
Well, I wasn’t happy with mine. It’s useful but it’s not cute. I need my regular dose of cute, especially when I’m dealing with grumpy clients who split hairs over the tiniest thing. So when my good friend Meream came up with a laptop sleeve she sewed herself, I was ecstatic. I asked her to make one for me as well.
She did… or at least, tried to. After butchering a hefty roll of foam, even the crafty Yam had to admit defeat. It just wasn’t possible to work with any other foam except neoprene.
I promised Yam I’d be patient and wait for her neoprene to get here and I was… until I saw the laptop sleeves in Acer Ayala. I quickly got the pink one, only to find out it wouldn’t fit my Zhivago. So I compromised by getting the only sleeve that would fit Z – a sleek, silver little thing.
It will have to do, for now, but as soon as Yam’s neoprene arrives, I’ll be the first to flood her with orders to make me the girliest laptop sleeves (or bag) this side of the equator. I’m thinking, these designs aren’t at all bad.

Oh, and say hello to my lola frames.
I got the glasses today. My eyesight’s slightly wonky, at 25/20. I’m amazed the use and abuse I put my eyes through hasn’t taken its toll but even so, I cringe at having to wear these glasses for the next few weeks, perhaps even months. The extra weight on my nose makes me feel I’ve grown another nose.
Hi! My name is Chin, and this is where, to quote Jane Austen, I "run mad and as often as I choose."

Please please please tell your friend that I need one for my HP Mini, too! It’s not the usual size because its screen is 10.1″ while everyone else’s is less so all the netbook sleeves here are too small! And, of course, the laptop sleeves are all too big.

I was going to buy a hello kitty case but I had no laptop. Yet.
