Comments Off Gray Elephants and My Aversion to Moving
Does moving ever really get any easy? I’m sure the moving companies Los Angeles (note: insert other cities here) residents hire simplify the task; but even so, they cannot make moving any less of a nightmare.
Months after moving to a new place, the husband and I still find ourselves worrying over how to re-arrange things. See, the problem with changing your address is that you suddenly come face to face with things you’d forgotten you own. And while logic tells you these things should be thrown away, some strange rash of sentimentality holds you back. I’m talking about two Compaq computers we no longer use. The two sit in the yayas’ room like gray elephants; everyone wonders why they’re still there yet nobody ushers them out. I know, I know we should dispose of those two. The longer I hold on to them, the more unusable their hardware will be. But I’ve had them since I was 18; it feels odd to stop having them now.
But yeah, yeah; I hear you, husband. Tomorrow, you can do with those two gray elephants as you please. Just don’t tell me what you did, exactly.
