Goodbye, Lolo.

He said he’d be happy to live til 40.

Instead, he got 83 years and each day of that, he lived simply, happily, and on the land he loved so much.

Goodbye, lolo. You don’t know it but your real legacy is in teaching your children and grandchildren discipline and strength, in showing them that the poor and humble can make anything of themselves. You inspired us then. You inspire us now.

    My thoughts and prayers are with you. There are few words that can be offered in loss other than the knowledge that everything he ever was lives on in you, and all of those with whom he shared his world.
