Fine Stories Never Age
We finally got to watch Star Trek. I got curious about the hype and decided to check out the flick, to see if there is any merit to the raves the movie has been getting. I found the film okay (it didn’t send me looking for satellite radios, that much is certain). It didn’t blow my socks off but it didn’t disappoint either. I guess that’s the good thing about seeing a movie with your expectations checked at the door: there is no room for disappointment.
I must say, though: you’ve got to give it to the Star Trek series. That’s some brilliant storytelling right there. I love the story; and I’m sure that’s the reason why the series managed to survive the test of time – then and even to this day, the story sparks the imagination of the people it’s told to.
Yes, I found the film so-so; but I loved the story. I suppose, in this age of the easy and the instant, that’s something the non-reading generation will find difficult to understand.

I loved Star Trek! But that’s because I also had no expectations (I’m a Star Wars girl) so the fun, the action and the adventure of this Star Trek was just pure entertainment for me. It made me happy =D
