Forget These Not

victoria-secret-leggingsThe problem with having an attention span as short as mine is that every time I make up my mind that I want something, I almost always forget that I want it. Case in point: these babies. I’ve been wanting these pumps for the longest time. They’d go well with my baby doll dresses, jeans, and leggings. I see them on display all the time in Ayala. Each time I do, I tell the hub, “Let’s make that store our last stop so I can check if they have it in my size.” Read more »

Happily Sleeved

This will sound very nitpicky of me but I’ve never liked the roomy laptop bags that most laptops come with. For one, they’re too big for me. They look way too utilitarian. Most of all, they look (forgive me, god of freebies) ugly. The easiest thing would have been to buy a girly laptop bag, right? Wrong. Try scouring for one and you’ll be dismayed at how few of them you could find. The rest of Cebu, it would seem, are happy with their black laptop bags.

Well, I wasn’t happy with mine. It’s useful but it’s not cute. I need my regular dose of cute, especially when I’m dealing with grumpy clients who split hairs over the tiniest thing. So when my good friend Meream came up with a laptop sleeve she sewed herself, I was ecstatic. I asked her to make one for me as well.

D-Link Love

Back in the day, I knew jack squat about networking and routers. Now, I’m a convert and I blame it on the lady boss who’s been to 7 countries since January 2009 — and all while running a business! She’s now in NYC, channeling Carrie and checking out the SoHo scene so she can absorb some artsiness in her pores.

But I digress. I still don’t do tech speak and probably never will. But now that I understand enough about the gizmos we need to keep making PhP scripts, I actually check out online sales to peek at gadgets we could buy for a skip and a song. I stumbled onto this sale recently

My drawers got all bunched up when I saw this DP-301U Print Server. I drooled when I saw it. You see, we need a new one (the mice at the old place chewed on the old one) and the cheapest that we found in brick and mortar stores costs a whooping three grand! Can you imagine how cheap this baby is? Even with conversion factored in, it’s way cheaper than the ones we’ve been eyeing! So what if it isn’t a wireless server? I don’t need it to be because we’ve wireless access to our network. We’ve always been fans of D-Link because they’re much, much better than Netgear. Our old D-Link unit (which also happens to be an older model) serviced 3 laptops and 2 desktops yet ran like a dream!

So yes, I’m thinking of getting this baby and I just might tonight (I read that they deliver pretty fast, too!) if the hub doesn’t stop me. Oh online shopping, you just made my day!
