Contemplating Evil
Author: ChinIf there’s one thing the hub and I could use help with, it’s learning to say no. Right now, we have this huge headache named J, and she just wouldn’t go away! The husband’s former high school classmate J is insisting we need cheap life insurance, and she happens to be selling plans she thinks we could use. If we had any sense at all, we should have just shut the door in her face. But Wett being Wett and Chin being Chin, we were too nice to say no. So, we agreed to listen to whatever it is she’s pitching. That was huge mistake no. 1.
Several mistakes after, we now find ourselves saddled with a woman who just won’t stop calling. It irks me, it irks Wett, and it irks the yayas who answer the phone every time. I told Wett to tell her no already, and he did. Unfortunately, she thinks she’s invested too much of her time pitching what she sells to us. She thinks she shouldn’t stop now. WTF, right?
Now, I’m the nicest girl in the world when it comes to salespeople. I don’t know where I got this tolerance from, but I have it. I can listen to the most persistent salesperson for hours and not lose my ability to smile. J is pushing me to untoward heights of evil, though. One of these days, I’ll invite her to the house and scare her with the dogs, I really will. We have 9 dogs hereabouts, all of them Dobermans and ready to pounce on new faces.
Hi! My name is Chin, and this is where, to quote Jane Austen, I "run mad and as often as I choose."
