BRRRRINGGGG It On

We all have creature comforts; here’s mine – I can’t live without a landline. And for some reason, a house doesn’t seem like a home to me without the sweet sound of a loud BRRRRINNNNGGG  echoing every now and then.

I know I’m attaching too much nostalgia to a REAL telephone but I can’t help myself. I can already see me sitting, phone tucked between shoulder and ear, howling in laughter at K’s recounting of her week, wiping the flour off my hands on a blue pintucked apron — okay, this part is purely imaginary and may have to stay that way because I can’t bake to save my life.

Run Mad

I guess you could say it began that day the hub decided he could no longer take Eartha Kitt’s purring. He convinced me that I needed an iPod to help me focus and right there and then, as soon as I oohed and aahed over the pretty colors, he ordered one. Of course, what’s a pod bought online without engraving, right? So I thought long and hard for a suitable line and finally resorted to thievery by pinching from Jane Austen.

Goodbye, Bland Land

So I’ve been doing some reading and an idea I’ve always known leaped at me again, from a page. The world is very competitive and those who are boring and bland (and most importantly, don’t innovate) get lost in the soup.

The world may have gotten incredibly politically correct in a lot of ways  but innovation is not one of them. Innovation is still all about letting the chips fall wherever and taking stabs in the dark with an idea most people will tell you won’t work.
