Swamped.

I’m running behind and I don’t need a Panerai watch to tell me so. The hub and I have been working round the clock designing clients’ websites. But even if we’re the fastest worker ants in the planet (which we’re not), there’s no way on earth we could catch up. Worse, we won’t have much of a connection starting tomorrow because we will all be in Tubigon, to mourn my lolo properly and wait for the burial.

Still, being busy is better than being idle. I’m grateful we’re swamped because our pay is directly proportional to the number of websites we code. I often hear of people losing their jobs here and overseas, of businesses crumpling. I’m grateful that despite our share of troubles, both frivolous and dramatic, we remain luckier than most. We’ve a roof over our heads, a child we can send to a good school, and food when we want it and where. At the end of the day, it’s the basic that matters, not the trimmings here and there.

Thank You, Yam.

How could I have forgotten to blog about the giveaways for Charlie’s baptism? Everyone raved about how lovely the pouch is. The bored and crafty Meream made it. It looks like a custom promotional product, what with recipe cards of dishes with sage as an ingredient, a cutesy pen, a handmade notepad. All of these are kept in a pouch sewn by Yam herself and she tells the story of how she did it all one crafternoon over at her blog. You all know where that is, of course :)

Have Mouth, Will Eat

My metabolism has gone bad. Then again, perhaps it’s always been mad. Back in the day, I can’t seem to pack on pounds no matter how voraciously I eat. Then, after giving birth to Alex, all I had to do to get fat was think of food. Today, my metabolism has made another dramatic turn-around. I eat all the time but can’t gain a thing.

So now, I’m thinking, considering I’m always hungry and quite picky with food to boot, perhaps I should learn to cook. Signing up for technical schools and courses in Texas online should do my crazy metabolism a world of good. If I can make what I want to eat, I could save tons of money, yes? Yes, not to mention save the husband a world of grief. Hahaha.

Ayala Online, That’s What

It’s sad most shops here don’t establish a presence online. The more congested the city gets, the lazier shoppers like me become. It’s a lot of work holding onto my 5-year-old’s hand so she doesn’t go knock over some pricey vase while I pick out the items our new home needs. If you’ve no idea how much work it is to restrain a hyperactive child, try doing it for half an hour. Your arms will ache, your patience will break, and you’ll find yourself counting to 10 lots of times.

So yeah, I’d give anything for Ayala to have an online store that does 24-hour delivery. It doesn’t so I put off buying what we need until the very last minute – the very, very last, in fact. In case I haven’t said this before, I’m saying it now. I’m only good at shopping when I’m buying clothes or gobs of chips. Some shopper!
